The small summer café at Miekankoski offers both sweet and salty local delicacies: salty pies, Karelian pies with egg butter, homemade cinnamon buns and many more baked goods. Yöu can enjoy your coffee inside or out in the terrace admiring the beautiful rapids.

Typical road side cafe by the beautiful Miekan rapids. Has also a tiny flee market and a shop selling hand made products, like woollen socks (I bought a pair).

A lovely little roadside café with lovely views. Even as I'm sitting here on the terrace in the rain, it has a great atmosphere. Don't expect a large selection but all the pies and cakes are tasty, coffee is the Finnish standard. Definitely worth a visit, especially on a nice day.

This is a great place to come. The hosts are so kind and the food is very good. The salty pies were delicious and the atmosphere as you sit by the lake is very calm.

Lovely small traditional cafe and bakery. Nice selection of savoury and sweet cakes. All seemed fresh and homemade. We had salmon filled pancakes, Karelian pies with egg butter and lihapirakka (like a meat pastie but with soft fluffy fried dough outside - delicious!) Coffee come with free refills and the cakes are nice too

Lovely little café between two lakes, with a handicraft shop (käsityövaja) and small flea market (kirppis). The food is homemade and reasonably priced and it had indoor and outdoor seating (the latter of which overlooks one of the lakes). A beautiful spot to stop and refuel. Also a great location for launching kayaks and canoes to explore the lakes.

Something completely different from a gas-station cafe! Everything is home made and delicious The site is located by lake/stream with wonderful view. Take your coffee on the water-terrace and watch the fish swimming! In addition a handcraft market with genuine local products for sale.

Marvelous tiny log floating museum. Very original and noncommercial place.
